If you asked me what quinoa was a year ago I would have no idea what you were talking about.
Since then I’ve found a good basic recipe I love to use, it’s super basic and would be a good intro dish to someone wanting to try quinoa.
Quinoa & Peas
- 1c. Quinoa
- 2 c. Chicken Broth
- 1 c. Frozen Petite Peas
- 1/2 c. Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
Rinse your quinoa thoroughly and place in a sauce pan or skillet with high sides and toast until lightly browned. Pour in the chicken broth and stir. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder parsley. Let simmer for a few and add the petite peas after some of the liquid has been cooked into the quinoa. Roughly 10 minutes in most of the liquid should be soaked up, this is the time to add the parmesan cheese and stir well. Continue to cook for another 10 minutes or until the broth has been cooked into the quinoa completely while stirring occasionally.
